Susie Geda has been a hair stylist for over 26 years.
Susie studied and graduated in 1990 from the London College of Fashion.
Susie began her career at the Michael Jane Salon, located in one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities. West London’s cultural diversity augmented her education by offering a depth of exposure to hair and fashion. She worked here from 1990 to 2001.
Susie established herself in Oakland in 2001. She has worked in 4 salons on College Avenue in Oakland’s Rockridge district for the past 16 years. By continuing to learn from industry leaders such as Bumble and Bumble, Kerastase, Vidal Sassoon and Deva Curl, she is always up to speed on the latest trends, techniques and products on the market.
In October of 2016, Susie and one of her long-term clients, Kech Carera, brainstormed what would eventually become BIBO (short for Blow In Blow Out Inc), a Blow Dry Bar and full service salon with waxing and make-up opportunities.
As a proud Oakland native, one of the most rewarding aspects of working behind the chair is encouraging my guests to embrace their own definition of beauty. I am constantly inspired by the unique style of my home town. Art, music, film, and fashion play an important role in keeping my creative process alive.
I have a strong passion for lived-in effortless haircuts paired with bold vibrant color. I specialize in, balayage and hair painting, blondes, razor curing, extensions, and all textures of curly hair.
A licensed cosmetologist for 9 years, my inspiration for hair all started with mastering my own naturally curly hair and playing with all my friends’ hair as a fun hobby in grade school.
Being able to use my creativity and vision to make someone else feel beautiful is what it’s all about for me. I specialize in teasy-lights, ombré, hair-painting, all-over tinting, Brazilian blowouts. My cutting specialties range from bobs to long layers and I am most passionate about event hairstyling for any special occasion.
A lifelong dancer, I hold visual artistry close to my heart and being able to use hair as my canvas is what inspires me the most. My personal favorite go-to hairstyle to wear is messy textured beach waves and my favorite dance move is a good hair-flip!
My passion for hair began early on during her 8th-grade career fair. I went into it not anticipating to discover a career but left inspired with a vision to become a hairstylist. Through my training, I was able to witness the impact each stylist had on their clients and how they could make someone feel beautiful and
special, and I wanted the opportunity to do the same.
Throughout my 13+ years in the beauty industry, I have worked and trained at renowned institutions such as San Francisco’s Patrick Evan Salon where I became Vidal Sassoon trained with an emphasis in precision cutting, and I have also perfected my balayage method.
Always striving to personalize each cut and style to my client, making people feel beautiful is the most rewarding thing in the world. If I can put a positive outlook on somebody’s day, that’s what I want to do!
7 years into my career, I continue to start every day excited to share my love for this industry to every single client that sits in my chair. I have furthered my education by taking courses with L’Oreal Professional, Kevin Murphy, Redkin, as well as in-house salon training.
My specialties are special event styling, color, hair cutting, and makeup. I have a deep passion for power blondes, creative color, and keeping up with all of the current trends. Always growing my skills, I am here at Bibo to make your hair dreams turn into a reality
I specialize in balayage, highlights, blonding, textured & curly hair, blowouts, styling and cutting. Creating something that captures and enhances the beauty of each client in order to emphasize their best features is what I love most.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked at Drybar, Public Barber Salon, and Population and I trained under my mentor and renowned stylist, Jennie Altman.
As a professional hairdresser, I am constantly trying to find ways to inspire myself. I often travel to new places in an ongoing effort to explore the world and all it has to offer. It is easy to get caught up in a routine or use the same formula repeatedly but the sweetest joys in life are often the things we find unexpectedly.
